The Soft Rope with a length of 7.5 meters is a versatile piece of equipment. Florian uses it mostly in advanced groundwork, but in special cases also in basic training.
Use in advanced groundwork:
- By using the length of the rope, you can slowly increase the distance in groundwork and thus strengthen the connection with your horse to the next level. To do this, you need to attach the rope to the halter with a standard carabiner.
- Nature did not design the horse’s head for it to carry a weight or the pull of a rope. For this reason, you can also place this rope around the horse’s neck. This way there is no more pull on the head and your horse has the possibility to carry itself freely. The prerequisite is that you have prepared and trained your horse accordingly.
Use in basic training:
- Particularly large or ponderous horses sometimes need a longer rope than others. Here the 7.5 meter Soft Rope offers a sufficient length.
- When working with problematic horses, which often react particularly panicky or even aggressive, the length of the rope gives more security. Of course, special caution is required here. Florian strongly recommends that you seek professional help in such cases.
About Soft Ropes in general:
Every Soft Rope by Florian Oberparleiter® is a unique combination of two ropes. It seems to be a usual high-quality lead rope, BUT it gets softer and softer towards the end. So, it actually is two ropes in one: It is heavy and thin where you use it for leading and it gets thicker and softer on the other end. When using the end to put pressure on the horse, it causes discomfort in the moment of use but does not cause lasting pain!
Delivery content:
The rope comes with a 3 cm ring, in order to tie a loop around the horse’s neck. It does not come with a carabiner!
